What are umbilical cord ties?

Crocheted umbilical cord ties are a gentle alternative to the standard plastic cord clamps.

Hand-crocheted (by my auntie) from 100% cotton, Mother Nurture cord ties are gentle on newborns delicate skin, far less likely to get caught on clothing and nappies and won't dig into you or your baby during those precious skin-to-skin cuddles.

Autoclave sterilised and are ready to use straight from the pack.

Please note - As these cord ties are very difficult to dry completely once wet, they best suit families who plan on delaying the first bath. It is recommended that a newborn only be wiped clean with a cloth until the cord stump falls off, at which point they can then have a proper bath.

It is important to keep the umbilical cord stump and surrounding skin clean and dry in order to help prevent infection. Please monitor the stump and surrounding skin daily and speak to your midwife or doctor if you have any questions or concerns.

Umbilical cord ties should only be used on healthy infants born at term.
